Onix Bikes are very proud to supply Pro Daniel Patten with his race bikes for the 2011 season.

Right from the start Daniel was very clear in outlining to us what he required in his race bike for the rigors of his racing in Belgium. It had to be light and stiff but most importantly it had to be strong and reliable. Daniel knew that whether he was sprinting for the line or tackling long stretches of cobbled pave his equipment was going to help him to perform to his very best.

Daniel liased with our chief mechanic Mike Jackson who has experience of working for some of the biggest teams in the U.K. Firstly we had to take all of Daniels measurements to get his set up millimetre perfect and then turn our attention to his specification which is outlined below. Between Onix, Mike and Daniel himself we have put together a machine that looks and performs to the very highest standard!

You can ride and purchase this fantastic machine from our online bike builder.

Onix Azzuro Frameset

The Azzuro frameset ticked all the boxes for weight and most importantly for Daniel high stiffness values.

The thicker downtube, oversized area around the bottom bracket and our unsymmetrical chainstay technology gives the high performance rider everything they are looking for.

Campagnolo Centaur Carbon Groupset

For racing in Belgium Daniel specified that a 10 speed drivetrain is what he wanted.

With that in mind and trying to keep the weight of the bike to a minimum we provided Campagnolo's top 10 speed groupset.

A 53/39 Carbon Chainset along with an 11-23 cassette will eat up tarmac and pave alike!

 Campagnolo Centaur Carbon Ergos

From a weight saving angle and a great look the carbon ergos were the only way to go

Superleggera XL50 Carbon 50mm Wheels

Like most pros Daniel races on Tubular wheels.

The wheels are probably the most important thing you put on a frame and the Superleggera XL50s with a 50mm deep section carbon rim are perfect for racing on the roads of Belgium and look fantastic as well.

Daniel's tyres of choice are the Vittoria Corsa Evo CX tubular's

Deda Zero 100 Servizio Corse White Alloy Stem

From a strength point of view Daniel insisted on an alloy stem. The Deda Zero 100 is one of the best alloy stems on the market and with titanium bolts its light too.

Deda Newton Bars (Shallow Drop)

The Deda Newton shallow drop bars are Daniels tried and trusted choice of handlebars. Once Daniel has checked the position of his ergos the bars will be coated in a very bling white Deda bar tape.

Onix UL1 Seatpost and Fizik Arione White Saddle

The Onix UL1 (Ultralight) seatpost with its full carbon post & clamp helps keep the weight of the bike to a minimum.

Daniel has used the Fizik Arione for years so the Kium titanium railed version in white adds to the look of the bike as well as being one of the best saddles on the market.

Onix BC1 Carbon Bottle Cage

The BC1 carbon bottle cage was the obvious choice as its light, looks great and holds your bottle firmly in place.

This will certainly be tested on the Pave of Belgium!
